From the age of 4 years she learned Ballet and Bharat Natyam, the most spread classical dance from the south of India. She became however more attracted by Kathak, the North-Indian classical dance., known for its spectacular rhythmic footwork and more possibilities for the dancer’s expressions.
She initially started studying this art form in Amsterdam from Kelly Varma and later on pursued this study for a longer period in New-Delhi India, under the foremost Doyen in this field, Pandit Birju Maharaj at Kalashram Institute. Later she completed a course in Theatre/Acting/Dance in Mumbai, India and obtained a Diploma. Also she followed master classes Bollywood dance with Saroj Khan of Mumbai . Saroj Khan is a renowned choreographer in the Indian Film Industry. Surili received a certificate from Saroj Khan. Surili became known for her gracious and expressive way of dancing and for her all by herself developed way of Bollywood- and semi-classical dance.
Surili has performed for various organizations such as NEMO Science Center Amsterdam, Groningen University, Maharishi Open University, Rotary Club, Alfabet Club, Schools for India, Diwali Festival Amstelveen and various Corporate companies in The Netherlands, but also abroad, as in India, Philippines, Indonesia, South-Africa, England, Ireland, Brazil etc.

Awarded in The Netherlands with the Miss Performance Trophy at Miss India Pageant.
